Aurelia Rice, 74, of Dallas, a fifth-generation Texan, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her.
She was born on April 26, 1942 to George W. and Dorothy Cockrell Jalonick. She was the great-great-granddaughter of Sarah and Alexander Cockrell, pioneers who built the first hotel in Dallas and also built the first bridge over the Trinity River in the mid 1800's.
Aurelia had a lifelong passion for animals which led her to raise Labrador Retrievers....

Aurelia Rice, 74, of Dallas, a fifth-generation Texan, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her.
She was born on April 26, 1942 to George W. and Dorothy Cockrell Jalonick. She was the great-great-granddaughter of Sarah and Alexander Cockrell, pioneers who built the first hotel in Dallas and also built the first bridge over the Trinity River in the mid 1800's.
Aurelia had a lifelong passion for animals which led her to raise Labrador Retrievers. She competed in Labrador field trial competitions for over 25 years winning a Grand National Championship.
Aurelia is survived by her two children and their spouses, Christie and Tommie Riley, Starke and Elizabeth Taylor, five grandchildren, her sister Sally Ann Hudnall and husband Jim Snodgrass, three nieces and a nephew.
A Memorial Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225. Entombment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to SPCA of Texas, PO Box 660412, Dallas, TX 75266-0412.
