Carol Ann Graham Hairston, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 75 at her Dallas home on January 27th, 2018. She was surrounded by family and friends on a warm winter day as she was called home.

Carol was born in Tyler, Texas on December 24, 1942. After graduating from Robert E Lee High School in Tyler, she attended Mary Baldwin College and later Southern Methodist University, where she graduated in 1965. Carol Ann Graham Hairston, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 75 at her Dallas home on January 27th, 2018. She was surrounded by family and friends on a warm winter day as she was called home.

Carol was born in Tyler, Texas on December 24, 1942. After graduating from Robert E Lee High School in Tyler, she attended Mary Baldwin College and later Southern Methodist University, where she graduated in 1965. She married the love of her life, Tom Hairston, on February 21st, 1970. They were married for 47 years and lovingly raised three children. They cherished their summers in Lake City, Colorado where Carol spent the day gardening, reading books, and going on nature walks as Tom fished in his favorite fishing holes. She was an active member of the Dallas Woman's Club and the Dallas Garden Club. Carol dedicated her life to her children and eight granddaughters who were truly the lights of her life. She will be greatly missed and remembered as a wonderful, kind woman who always left you with a feeling of warmth and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Terry Graham, Sr. and Elizabeth Ezell Graham, and her husband, John Thomas Hairston, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Terry Graham Jr.; her daughter Elizabeth Keogh and her husband Mike, their children Caroline, Margaret, and Emily; her son Graham Hairston, his wife Rachel, and their children Cate, Libby, and Evie; her son Walker Hairston, his wife Hannah, and their children Liza and Annabelle.

A memorial service will be held at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church on Wednesday, January 31st at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York City, NY 10163. www.michaeljfox.org
