James L. "Jim" Day

Jim Day went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2016. He was born to James Delmar Day and Florence Gibson Day on April 3, 1937 in Norton, Virginia.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Pamela J. Day. He leaves behind a daughter, Ginger Lynn Day Bowman, of New Port News, VA; three step-children, Kimberly K. Grider of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Robert L. Triplett III, of Dallas, TX, and Shannon J. Raglin of Summerville, SC; and eight grandchildren.

Jim was a graduate of J.J. Kelly High School, Wise, VA and The Engineer School, Fort Belvoir, VA. He served in the Virginia Army National Guard for fourteen years rising to the rank of Captain while simultaneously pursing a business career.

His career spanned six decades and included Accounting and Sales positions with Armour and Company, Vice President of Trust Company Bank, and Credit and Sales Manager for Recticel Foam Corporation.

In the final phase of his career, Jim served as a Manufacturer's Sales Representative for several companies in the furniture industry. A major line was Parker Southern, Maiden, NC where he functioned as Vice President of Sales.

Jim loved his family and his Lord. He especially enjoyed traveling with Pam and friends. He was an avid photographer and had a passion for many different genres of music. He had a great sense of humor and always welcomed others with a smiling face or a good-natured joke. He will be sorely missed.
