Marshall Kendall, 80, of Dallas passed away on Sunday July 30, 2017. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all that knew and loved him.
Marshall was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 28, 1936 to Philip and Eleanore Kendall. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1958 then joined the army as an officer and was stationed in Germany. Upon returning home Marshall met and married fellow Nebraskan Irene Nielsen (1936-2009). The couple moved to Dallas, Texas in the early 1960's when Marshall accepted a job in sales with Nationwide Papers. He worked for Nationwide until his retirement in 1998.
Marshall was fond of cooking, classical music and cycling. He also loved art and took up painting and photography after he retired. Marshall especially liked to travel - his favorite thing to do once he settled in was to find the busiest pub in the area, pull up a barstool, and spend time sharing pints and stories with the locals.
Marshall is survived by his children Philip Kendall, wife Kristi, and Leigh Hesler, husband Neal as well as his five lovely grandchildren Philip, Taylor, Henry, Carl and Sam.
Funeral services will be private. Donations in Marshall's memory can be made to The Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Rd, Dallas, Texas 75218.
