Mitzi McKool Gadway, 62, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at her home. She was born on July 4, 1954, in Dallas, Texas.

Mitzi grew up on Royal Lane. She attended Christ the King School and Ursuline Academy. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from St. Edwards University, and later earned a Master's Degree in counseling therapy. Mitzi worked as a homemaker, school teacher, and a psychotherapist. She brought light to the wounded souls of many. Mitzi raised six sons and taught her children how to love. She loved hiking, nature...

Mitzi McKool Gadway, 62, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at her home. She was born on July 4, 1954, in Dallas, Texas.

Mitzi grew up on Royal Lane. She attended Christ the King School and Ursuline Academy. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from St. Edwards University, and later earned a Master's Degree in counseling therapy. Mitzi worked as a homemaker, school teacher, and a psychotherapist. She brought light to the wounded souls of many. Mitzi raised six sons and taught her children how to love. She loved hiking, nature walks, yoga, meditation, forests, mountains, and the ocean. Mitzi enjoyed taking care of the people she loved. She traveled the country with her husband, Mike, before returning to her home of Dallas, shortly before her death. She will be remembered for her loving, empathetic soul and her gift of bringing light through kindness and unconditional love.

She is survived by her husband, Michael C. Gadway; sons, Eric Dafoe, Sam Dafoe, Clay Dafoe, Mack (Myra) Dafoe, and Matt (Kelsey) Gadway; mother, Elizabeth Ann Raney McKool; brothers, Mike McKool and Matt McKool; and sister, Mollie McKool.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her father, Mike McKool, Sr. and son, David Gadway.

A celebration of life service to honor Mitzi's memory will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75204. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
