Petty Jo Leachman, of Dallas and Irving, Texas, was born on March 21st in Woodward, Oklahoma, and lost her courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease on Thursday, May 18, 2017.

Petty Jo is survived by her maternal cousins Joseph W. Walker and his wife Christine of Irving, Texas, Dan Walker of McKinney, Texas. Along with many other maternal cousins. She is also survived by her paternal cousins Agnes Leachman Bittman and Claudette Leachman Landess, both of Amarillo, Texas; Linda Lu Leachman Lescault, Midlothian, Virginia; Roger M. Petty Jo Leachman, of Dallas and Irving, Texas, was born on March 21st in Woodward, Oklahoma, and lost her courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease on Thursday, May 18, 2017.

Petty Jo is survived by her maternal cousins Joseph W. Walker and his wife Christine of Irving, Texas, Dan Walker of McKinney, Texas. Along with many other maternal cousins. She is also survived by her paternal cousins Agnes Leachman Bittman and Claudette Leachman Landess, both of Amarillo, Texas; Linda Lu Leachman Lescault, Midlothian, Virginia; Roger M. Leachman, Portland, Oregon; and Gayle Gowdey Williams, of Martinsville, Virginia. She has many paternal cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph Petty Leachman and Margaret Heslin Moran Leachman and her sister Novie Rae Leachman.

She graduated from Blackwell, Oklahoma, High School in 1941 and from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor's degree in 1945. While at OU, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Following graduation Petty Jo, her parents and sister moved to Glendale, California, and then to Dallas in 1947 where she was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church. In January 2014, Petty Jo and her precious shisu, Angel, became residents of the Silverado Memory Care Community- Valley Ranch in Irving, Texas, where she was loved and cared by the compassionate staff. She was formally employed in buyer and sales positions at Neiman Marcus and Lester Melnick. She and her father co-owned Ralph's Menswear in Inwood Village, Dallas, Texas.

Services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest, Northwest Highway Chapel with Dr. Nelson Bell of Highland Park Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will be on Monday before the service from 1:00-2:00 PM.
