Stanley "Stan" Gilbert Roth, 87, of University Park, TX and formerly of Woodland Hills, CA, an aviation enthusiast, took his final flight, March 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Rose and Samuel Roth; sister, Edith Danberg and brother, Marty Martin. Stanley "Stan" Gilbert Roth, 87, of University Park, TX and formerly of Woodland Hills, CA, an aviation enthusiast, took his final flight, March 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Rose and Samuel Roth; sister, Edith Danberg and brother, Marty Martin. Stan is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, JoAnn "Jodie" Mays Roth, his two sons Curtis Clifford Roth of California and Bruce Roth of Washington, step-daughter, Charlotte Moreau of Heath, TX; along with his sister Terry Bergfalk of Porterville, CA and brother-in-law, Lester Lowry Mays of San Antonio, TX; a niece, two nephews, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Stan was born in New York, New York on June 15, 1927. He graduated from DuPont High School in Wilmington, Delaware. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War flying the P47 and P51. He also attended Fresno State University. Stan was employed as the West Coast manager for a major pool chemical company while living in California. He was also a professional drummer who was featured with the great Stan Kenton during the big band era. After his retirement, and moving to Texas, he volunteered as a radio operator for the University Park Fire Department and the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field in Dallas. Stan professed his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized on January 28, 1997 at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Stan was an active Mason being raised in Woodland Hills Lodge No. 811 in Woodland Hills California. He transferred his membership to Hillcrest Lodge No. 1318 A.F.& A.M. in 1985. He held several officer positions within Hillcrest Lodge including Worshipful Master in the 1993/1994 year. Past Master Roth was an Endowed and Life Member of Hillcrest Lodge. In addition, he was a member of the Scottish Rite and Shrine.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7450 W. Northwest Highway in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, March 28. Burial and Reception will follow the service. Memorials can be sent to:
